1,225 hours: know where you stand, all year.
For self-employed people in the Netherlands. Log hours by type of work, see if you are on pace for the hours criterion, and keep a year report for your accountant or the Belastingdienst.
What the rules ask
- For the self-employed deduction you need at least 1,225 hours a calendar year spent on your business (KVK, MKB Servicedesk).
- There is no part-time exception, and starters also need 1,225 hours in the calendar year (ZZP Nederland).
- If the Belastingdienst asks, you show your hours with your agenda, quotes, invoices or an hour log (KVK).
